Growing Community Connections: Walking Tour of McKinley Urban Agriculture Sites

Join Renewing the Countryside urban agriculture and farmers/gardeners in North Minneapolis for a walking tour of McKinley urban agriculture sites! While the event is aimed at aspiring or active Twin Cities urban farmers/gardeners, interested community members are also welcome!

This field day will feature prolific front-yard gardener in north Minneapolis, Joanne Goddard (McKinley Community Board Member), who will lead us on a walking tour of 3 community gardens she initiated in coordination with the neighborhood organization and other local partners. We will also hear from some of Joanne's peers, who--along with Joanne--are part of an informal association of urban garden/farm-based community organizers in the neighborhood. Together they will talk about their individual work and how they collectively share resources, knowledge, and inspiration to develop a culture of local food cultivation in North Minneapolis.
